About the role

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer on the Cloud Platform team at HavocAI. You will build infrastructure and tooling that enables reliable, efficient build/deploy/operate workflows, focusing on automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Automation & Platform Enablement
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across the full software development lifecycle
- Create self-service tooling and standardized deployment/operations workflows
- Improve developer experience via automation and documentation
- Help establish scalable platform capabilities that increase engineering throughput
Cloud Infrastructure & Operations
- Implement and manage cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Deploy and support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
- Maintain and improve development, staging, and production environments
- Partner with Cloud Platform and SRE to ensure systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient
Reliability, Observability & Security
- Implement observability across logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Build secure CI/CD, including secrets management and access controls
- Support operational readiness, reliability practices, and resilience
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support deployment and operational needs across engineering teams
- Troubleshoot infrastructure/deployment/runtime issues across environments
- Contribute to platform standards and technical documentation

Requirements

3+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, cloud platform, or related roles
Strong experience with CI/CD and deployment automation
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience managing cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Experience operating production systems with monitoring/logging/alerting
Proficiency in scripting/programming: Python, Bash, or Go
Strong understanding of Linux and networking fundamentals
Strong problem-solving, communication skills
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government security clearance if required

Preferred Skills

Experience with a cloud platform or internal developer platform
Familiarity with SRE practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets)
Experience supporting data pipelines/analytics infrastructure
Knowledge of cloud security best practices
Experience optimizing cloud costs and infrastructure efficiency
Background supporting high-reliability, defense, or similar environments
