About the role
Role Overview
FirmPilot is hiring a mid-level DevOps Engineer focused on Continuous Delivery and building reliable, frequent deployment pipelines. You’ll partner closely with the development team, with direct ownership of infrastructure and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Build Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines for safe, frequent production deployments
- Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability
- Evaluate and implement infrastructure solutions and best practices as needs evolve
- Support security best practices across containerized services
- Own observability and monitoring across backend and frontend systems
- Participate in daytime on-call rotation, contribute to incident response, and support postmortems
- Collaborate daily with the development team (standups for priorities, blockers, in-flight work)
Requirements
- Solid understanding of Continuous Delivery principles with real-world implementation using Terraform and GitHub Actions
- Experience managing AWS infrastructure at scale, including:
- Multi-account environments and IAM
- ECS Fargate
- SNS/SQS and event-driven architectures
- Strong background in containerization and Docker
- Familiarity with cloud-native security best practices
- Ability to use monitoring/observability tools to diagnose performance issues across the stack (including frontend)
- Strong troubleshooting skills for distributed, event-driven systems
- Experience with feature flags and progressive rollouts
- Honesty, discipline, curiosity, and strong ownership/communication in incidents
Nice to Have
- Kubernetes experience (EKS workloads)
Additional Responsibilities (Internal IT)
- Support internal employee technology requests (device setup, troubleshooting, installations, access)
- Provision/deprovision employee accounts for onboarding/offboarding
- Manage company-issued hardware and lifecycle/inventory
- Maintain user access permissions and assist with identity/access management best practices
- Support endpoint security initiatives (compliance, access controls)
- Document internal IT processes and maintain technical documentation
Compensation
- Expected salary range: $115,000–$130,000 annually
