About the role

Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to lead DevOps and SRE initiatives for a multi-tenant SaaS platform. This is a deeply hands-on role focused on designing the engineering platform, setting standards, and automating workflows so product teams can build, test, and deploy independently and safely.

Responsibilities

Design and evolve a modern DevOps platform enabling teams to own build/test/deploy workflows end-to-end.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) for microservices, data workloads, and batch jobs with self-service and repeatability.
Define and enforce repository, branching, code quality, and automation standards across teams.
Implement Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and Terraform for consistent, auditable, and scalable environment provisioning.
Collaborate with production and IT operations to provide reliable operational support and improve service reliability.

Required Qualifications

10+ years in DevOps or Platform Engineering, including 5+ years in senior/lead roles.
3+ years designing and operating solutions on AWS.
Strong software engineering background with 5+ years hands-on development in Python, Java, or similar.
Experience architecting/building/deploying microservices in production/distributed environments.
2+ years with GitHub Enterprise, including GitHub Actions and branching/ruleset governance.
Experience with large-scale CI/CD and release engineering infrastructure.
Ability to establish and enforce repository standards, naming conventions, and governance at scale.
Terraform expertise for infrastructure as code at scale.
Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
Excellent communication and cross-team technical leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields.
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect.
Experience with developer platform tools such as Backstage.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps for work management.
Experience using DORA metrics and other DevOps performance indicators.
