DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

ComplyAuto is seeking a DevOps Engineer to drive DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) initiatives. You will design and improve automated deployments, build infrastructure via Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and help ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment and configuration management systems.
• Develop and maintain IaC scripts for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
• Continuously optimize deployment processes for efficiency and reliability.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging for service reliability.
• Collaborate on Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
• Facilitate blameless post-incident reviews and support creation of error budgets.
• Influence system design with development teams for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Design and implement high-availability systems.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated testing is integrated into deployment.
• Partner with security teams to implement and monitor security best practices.
• Ensure compliance with infrastructure and deployment-related industry standards and regulations.
• Perform capacity planning and address performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain documentation, including runbooks and knowledge base articles.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of DevOps experience with focus on SRE (or equivalent education/experience).
• Strong experience designing and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable infrastructure using IaC.
• Strong experience architecting and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for testing, integration, and deployment.
• Experience managing cloud and on-premises infrastructure, optimizing performance, scalability, and cost while meeting security standards.
• Ability to create and maintain clear infrastructure documentation and provide system health/performance/cost-efficiency reporting.
• Excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Proven experience leading operational excellence activities such as post-incident reviews, SLO/SLI definition, and error budget practices.
