About the role
Role Overview
DevOps Engineer (Experienced) in the Technology business unit. You will support development, security, and operations teams to release and secure application code using modern DevOps best practices.
Location/Work model: Remote (currently operating in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TX, WI).
Primary Responsibilities
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Terraform, Argo CD, Helm, and Kustomize.
- Provide engineering expertise to plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy secure, scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure as code.
- Drive continuous improvement of CI/CD, emphasizing integration, development, and constant deployment.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, QA, Data, and Security across the full software development lifecycle for applications in a hybrid environment.
- Automate operational processes by designing, managing, and maintaining automation tooling.
- Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization.
- Ensure site reliability and respond to irregularities.
- Optimize development and release processes through automation.
- Define and evolve DevOps best practices within the team.
Requirements
- 3+ years relevant experience including scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), AWS, and Linux, plus CI/CD and Git.
- 2+ years managing production Kubernetes infrastructure, with exposure to EKS, AKS, and GKE.
- Strong experience automating tasks/infrastructure using scripting (Python and Bash preferred).
- Configuration management tools: Salt, Ansible, Chef.
- Service registry/discovery: Consul, Vault, etcd.
- IaC/orchestration: Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Deep knowledge of SDLC and CI/CD pipeline architecture (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Drone) including Kubernetes deployments with Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD.
- Experience automating public cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- AWS services experience: ECS/Fargate, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CodeBuild, S3, Route 53, API Gateway, etc.
- Containerization tools experience (e.g., Docker, Buildah, podman).
- CI tools: GitHub Actions preferred (GitLab CI/CircleCI acceptable).
- Monitoring (open source): kube-prometheus-stack including Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Alertmanager.
- In-depth understanding of cloud networking (VPCs, gateways, etc.).
