DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer (Remote — United States). Own and improve the infrastructure, deployments, and operational foundation that keep Clever reliable, secure, and resilient—so engineering can ship with confidence and spend less time fighting environments.

What You’ll Do

• Own and improve infrastructure and operational systems behind engineering teams
• Build safer deployment paths with automated health checks, rollback plans, and clear release visibility
• Strengthen observability and incident response: alerts, dashboards, runbooks, escalation, and post-incident follow-up
• Lead infrastructure migrations and production cutovers across Heroku and AWS services (ECS, RDS, networking, DNS)
• Support SOC2/security readiness via improved access controls, secrets management, and repeatable practices

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering with hands-on production infrastructure ownership
• Strong AWS experience (ECS, RDS, IAM, networking, DNS)
• Deep CI/CD and deployment automation experience, including rollback and release-safety
• Solid observability and incident-response background
• Ability to read backend code and make well-scoped changes
• Strong security and access-management judgment with an ownership mindset

Compensation & Benefits

• $140–160k base + bonus and equity
