About the role

Role overview

DevOps Engineer responsible for owning and improving Careflow’s cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and operational reliability. You’ll help the platform stay secure, scalable, performant, and highly available while supporting deployments and troubleshooting across the stack.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Operations (GCP)
    • Manage and maintain the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment
    • Design and improve infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
    • Own networking, compute, databases, storage, and other cloud services
    • Monitor system health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Monitoring, Logging & Observability
    • Build and maintain centralized logging and monitoring
    • Create dashboards and alerts for system/app performance and critical workflows
    • Define operational metrics and usage tracking
    • Lead incident response and root cause analysis
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement security best practices across infrastructure and applications
    • Manage identity and access, secrets management, and environment security
    • Perform security reviews and support vulnerability remediation
    • Help with compliance initiatives and audit readiness
  • CI/CD & Automation
    • Improve deployment pipelines and release processes
    • Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows
    • Improve deployment reliability and development environments
    • Reduce manual operational work through automation
  • Reliability Engineering
    • Drive uptime, resiliency, backups, and disaster recovery improvements
    • Establish service-level objectives (SLOs) and operational standards
    • Improve platform stability and performance
  • Cross-functional support
    • Partner with engineering, product, and leadership teams
    • Provide technical guidance on infrastructure and operational needs
    • Participate in an on-call/operational support rotation
  • Bonus (when needed)
    • Troubleshoot and fix application-level issues by diving into code
    • Contribute bug fixes and performance optimization efforts

What success looks like (first 90 days)

  • Own GCP infrastructure and environments
  • Establish visibility into performance, reliability, and usage metrics
  • Improve monitoring/alerting and incident response
  • Identify and mitigate security and operational risks
  • Reduce infrastructure-related issues and deployment friction
  • Become a trusted technical resource for reliability and operational excellence

Position details

  • Role: DevOps Engineer
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Location: Fully Remote
  • Schedule: Flexible; Saturday coverage required with a weekday day off in return
  • Reports to: Lead Architect

Requirements

  • 5+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting in cloud environments
