DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Mid to Senior DevOps Engineer (fully remote, full-time) to strengthen end-to-end delivery and operations. This is a hands-on, innovation-driven role where you prototype DevOps/cloud automation, validate it quickly, and turn successful prototypes into reusable standards (e.g., shared pipeline modules, secure base artifacts, and repeatable infrastructure patterns).

Responsibilities

• CI/CD Integration & Pipelines

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including shared libraries/reusable modules.
  • Build automated workflows for build, test, security scanning, artifact publishing, and deployment with environment promotion strategies.
  • Integrate CI/CD with GitHub (branching strategy, PR checks, release tagging) and enforce best practices via templates/guardrails.
  • Implement semantic versioning for pipelines, artifacts, and container images to ensure traceability.

• Containerization & Secure “Gold Images”

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve hardened Docker base gold images (minimal, patched, secure defaults).
  • Apply container security best practices (image hygiene, least privilege, dependency pinning, SBOM awareness).
  • Establish and automate an image lifecycle model: build → scan → sign/promote → deprecate.
  • Automate patching and rebuild workflows.

• Artifact Management & Supply Chain Security (JFrog)

  • Manage artifact workflows in JFrog Artifactory (structure, promotion, retention, access control).
  • Remediate findings with teams and improve overall supply chain security posture.
  • Use automation (including Docker Templates) to deploy new gold image versions across existing images.

• Cloud Infrastructure Development & Management (AWS)

  • Build automation and operational patterns across AWS services such as RDS, Glue, and QuickSight.
  • Develop Python-based tooling to automate cloud operations, validations, deployments, and reporting workflows.
  • Improve reliability and repeatability using automated provisioning patterns and standardized configurations.
  • Build and deploy AWS resources using Terraform, integrated with CI/CD deployment.

• Quality Gates, Observability, and Reliability Tooling

  • Operationalize SonarQube quality gates in CI/CD (coverage thresholds, code smells, vulnerability checks).
  • Support/extend observability integrations with Grafana, and optionally Datadog/New Relic.
  • Collaborate with engineering/SRE stakeholders to reduce toil, improve incident readiness, and standardize runbooks.

Requirements

• U.S. authorization required: must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
• Public Trust clearance required (or ability to obtain).
