DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

DevOps Engineer (mid to senior) to support end-to-end delivery and operations for CI/CD automation, build/release engineering, container security, AWS enablement, and reliability tooling. This is a fully remote, full-time role and is hands-on, with an innovation mindset: prototype new approaches, validate quickly, and convert successful prototypes into reusable standards.

Responsibilities

• DevOps & CI/CD Pipelines

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Create shared pipeline libraries/modules to standardize delivery patterns.
  • Build automated workflows for build, test, security scanning, artifact publishing, and deployment, including environment promotion strategies.
  • Integrate CI/CD with GitHub (branching strategy, PR checks, release tagging) and enforce best practices via templates/guardrails.
  • Implement semantic versioning for pipelines, artifacts, and container images for traceability.

• Containerization & Secure “Gold Image” Patterns

  • Build and continuously improve hardened Docker base “gold images”.
  • Apply container best practices: image hygiene, least privilege, dependency pinning, SBOM awareness, secure defaults.
  • Establish an image lifecycle model (build → scan → sign/promote → deprecate) with automated patching/rebuild workflows.

• Artifact Management & Supply Chain Security (JFrog)

  • Manage artifact workflows in JFrog Artifactory (repos, promotions, retention, access control).
  • Work with teams to remediate findings and improve supply chain security posture.
  • Use automation (including Docker templates) to roll out gold image updates.

• Cloud Infrastructure Development & Management (AWS)

  • Develop automation and operational patterns across AWS services including RDS, Glue, and QuickSight.
  • Build Python-based tooling for cloud operations, validations, deployments, and reporting workflows.
  • Improve reliability/repeatability with standardized provisioning/configurations.
  • Build and deploy AWS resources using Terraform and deploy via CI/CD pipelines.

• Quality Gates, Observability, and Reliability

  • Operationalize SonarQube quality gates (coverage thresholds, code smells, vulnerability checks) in CI/CD.
  • Support Grafana dashboards/alerts for observability; optionally Datadog/New Relic.
  • Partner with engineering/SRE stakeholders to reduce toil, improve incident readiness, and standardize runbooks.

Requirements

• U.S. residency and work authorization: must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance (or hold it already).
• Mid to senior level DevOps engineering experience (hands-on ownership of CI/CD, cloud automation, and reliability tooling).

• Observability integrations with Datadog or New Relic.
