About the role

Role Overview

Mid to senior-level DevOps Engineer (fully remote, full-time) to strengthen end-to-end delivery and operational capabilities. You will prototype and productionize DevOps/cloud automation, establish reusable standards (shared pipeline modules, secure base artifacts, repeatable infrastructure patterns), and integrate quality/security controls into CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

CI/CD & Integration

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including shared libraries/reusable modules to standardize delivery patterns.
  • Build automated workflows for build, test, security scanning, artifact publishing, and deployment, including environment promotion.
  • Integrate CI/CD with GitHub (branching strategy, PR checks, release tagging) and enforce best practices via templates/guardrails.
  • Apply semantic versioning for pipelines, artifacts, and container images for traceability.

Container Security & “Gold Images”

  • Build, maintain, and improve hardened Docker gold images (minimal, patched) used by engineering teams.
  • Enforce container best practices: image hygiene, least privilege, dependency pinning, and SBOM awareness.
  • Establish and automate an image lifecycle: build → scan → sign/promote → deprecate.

Artifact Management & Supply Chain Security (JFrog)

  • Manage artifact workflows using JFrog Artifactory (repository structure, promotion, retention, access control).
  • Partner with teams to remediate security findings and improve supply chain posture.
  • Use Docker templates to automate deployment of new gold image versions.

AWS Infrastructure & Automation

  • Build automation and operational patterns across AWS services such as RDS, Glue, and QuickSight.
  • Develop Python tooling for cloud operations, validations, deployments, and reporting.
  • Improve reliability/repeatability via automated provisioning patterns and standardized configurations.
  • Build and deploy AWS resources using Terraform; deploy via the CI/CD pipeline.

Quality Gates, Observability, and Operational Excellence

  • Integrate and operationalize SonarQube quality gates (coverage, code smells, vulnerability checks) in CI/CD.
  • Support observability with Grafana (dashboards/alerts); optionally Datadog/New Relic.
  • Collaborate with engineering/SRE stakeholders to reduce toil, improve incident readiness, and standardize runbooks.

Requirements

  • Mid to senior DevOps engineering experience (as indicated by the role level).
  • Experience building/operating CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and integrating with GitHub.
  • Strong containerization and security practices, including hardened base images and image lifecycle automation.
  • Familiarity with supply chain security patterns and artifact management using JFrog Artifactory.
  • Hands-on AWS enablement and automation.
  • Ability to build/deploy infrastructure and workflows using Terraform and Python tooling.
  • Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain.

Nice-to-Haves / Optional

  • Observability tools beyond Grafana: Datadog or New Relic.
