DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Mid to senior-level DevOps Engineer (fully remote, full-time) to strengthen CI/CD automation, build & release engineering, container security, AWS enablement, and reliability tooling. You will prototype new automation approaches, validate them quickly, and convert successful prototypes into reusable standards and infrastructure patterns.

Responsibilities

• CI/CD & Integration

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Create shared libraries / reusable pipeline modules to standardize delivery.
  • Automate workflows for build, test, security scanning, artifact publishing, and deployment with environment promotion strategies.
  • Integrate CI/CD with GitHub (branching strategy, PR checks, release tagging) and enforce best practices via templates/guardrails.
  • Implement and maintain semantic versioning for pipelines, artifacts, and container images.

• Containerization & Secure “Gold Image” Patterns

  • Build and continuously improve hardened, minimal Docker base gold images.
  • Apply image security best practices (image hygiene, least privilege, dependency pinning, SBOM awareness, secure defaults).
  • Establish an image lifecycle (build → scan → sign/promote → deprecate) and automate patching/rebuilds.

• Artifact Management & Supply Chain Security

  • Manage artifact workflows in JFrog Artifactory (repos, promotion, retention, access control).
  • Partner with teams to remediate findings and improve supply chain security posture.
  • Use Docker templates to deploy updates to gold images across existing images.

• AWS Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

  • Develop automation and operational patterns across AWS services including RDS, Glue, QuickSight.
  • Build Python-based tooling for cloud operations, validations, deployments, and reporting workflows.
  • Improve reliability/consistency with automated provisioning patterns and standardized configurations.
  • Build/deploy AWS resources using Terraform and deployment via CI/CD pipelines.

• Quality Gates & Observability

  • Integrate SonarQube quality gates (coverage thresholds, code smells, vulnerability checks) into CI/CD.
  • Support observability with Grafana (dashboards/alerts) and optionally Datadog/New Relic.
  • Collaborate to reduce toil, improve incident readiness, and standardize runbooks.

Requirements

• Mid to senior experience level (explicitly stated as mid to senior).
• Public Trust clearance (or ability to obtain).
• U.S. residency/authorization: must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
• No sponsorship offered.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.

Nice to Have / Optional

• Observability integration with Datadog or New Relic.
• Strong container supply-chain security practices (e.g., scanning/signing workflows) aligned to the described lifecycle model.
