Role Overview

Engineering & Data Tools Specialist (DevOps Engineer)

  • Type: Contract
  • Compensation: $40–$80/hour
  • Schedule: 10–40 hrs/week
  • Location: Remote (United States)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and provide insights on the usability and effectiveness of engineering/data tools such as GitHub, Azure, Metabase, and JIRA.
  • Create documentation and feedback reports based on real-world tool usage and engineering best practices.
  • Design, review, and test workflows that integrate cloud solutions and developer productivity platforms.
  • Analyze data visualization, monitoring, and CI/CD tools for integration opportunities and process improvements.
  • Develop use cases, technical guides, and process documentation for new features and data workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders using strong written and verbal communication, delivering actionable recommendations.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in engineering, developer tooling, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with tools including: GitHub, Postman, AWS, Firebase, Azure, Datadog, Sentry, JIRA, Linear, n8n, Twilio, Databricks, Tableau, Metabase, BrowserStack.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication with high technical accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering/data science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical feedback into actionable improvement proposals.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting both cloud/infrastructure and developer tooling domains.
