DevOps / Cloud Engineer, Jr.

Role overview

You’ll join as a Junior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to support the AWS infrastructure behind Pathfinder. Working closely with a System Engineer, you’ll help ensure smooth operations while building hands-on skills in cloud management, infrastructure resilience, and security.

Responsibilities

• Support configuration and deployment of the company’s AWS cloud infrastructure
• Help manage vulnerabilities across infrastructure and dependencies
• Monitor logs, alerts, and system health to detect and escalate anomalies
• Participate in infrastructure testing, KPI tracking, and reporting
• Learn systems and runbooks to become a reliable backup during critical incidents
• Collaborate with the team to improve automation, security, and operational efficiency
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Coursework in architecture and administration of information systems
• Practical experience with system administration and Linux environments
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and AWS services
• Basic knowledge of security best practices and vulnerability management
• Excellent problem-solving/analytical skills
• Effective communication and teamwork

Nice-to-haves

• Growing interest in infrastructure as code and automation (mentioned as key growth areas)
