About the role
Role Overview
Developer Relations Engineer (individual contributor) for Qdrant’s Developer Relations team. The role is split ~60% hands-on technical work and ~40% community, content, and speaking. You’ll help developers build AI applications through high-quality content, world-class demos, and authentic community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Build demos/showcase apps: create open-source end-to-end RAG pipelines and recommendation engines
- Applied innovation: prototype new vector-search use cases using emerging AI patterns (e.g., long-context RAG, agentic workflows)
- Content creation: write technical blog posts, record video tutorials, and produce educational resources
- Technical events & mentorship: lead presence at hackathons and workshops; mentor developers
- Public speaking: present at industry conferences; deliver talks and live coding sessions
- Community engagement: act as a “first responder” on Discord/GitHub and support developer needs internally
- Local leadership: host meetups and be the primary contact for the local AI community
Requirements
- Strong coding background in one or more of: Python, Rust, TypeScript, or Go
- Interest in vector search, embeddings, and LLMs
- Ability to explain complex technical architectures clearly (writing + on stage)
- Local tech community involvement (or eagerness to lead locally)
- Creative mindset for storytelling + code-based demonstrations
- Autonomous self-starter who can work independently with empathy for developers
