About the role
Role Overview
Developer Relations Engineer (individual contributor) at Qdrant. The role is split approximately 60% hands-on technical work and 40% community, content, and speaking. You’ll help developers build AI applications through high-quality content, compelling demos, and authentic community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Build demos / showcases: Develop open-source end-to-end applications (e.g., RAG pipelines and recommendation engines).
- Applied innovation: Prototype new vector-search use cases using emerging AI patterns (e.g., Long-context RAG and agentic workflows).
- Content creation: Write technical blog posts, record video tutorials, and produce educational resources.
- Technical events: Participate in hackathons and workshops; provide mentoring and support.
- Public speaking: Present at industry conferences and run live coding sessions.
- Community engagement: Act as a first responder on Discord and GitHub; support developer needs internally.
- Local leadership: Host meetups and serve as a primary point of contact for the local AI community.
Requirements
- Strong coding background in Python, Rust, TypeScript, or Go.
- Interest in vector search, embeddings, and LLMs.
- Ability to clearly explain complex technical architecture in writing and on stage.
- Active involvement in the local tech community or eagerness to lead locally.
- Creative mindset to create content and demonstrate features via code and storytelling.
- Self-starter with empathy and the ability to work independently.
