Developer Product Marketing Lead

Role overview

Developer Product Marketing Lead (IC PMM, founding) at OpenRouter. You’ll act as editor-in-chief for all external developer messaging, while building the systems and processes that scale how OpenRouter communicates technical value to developers and customers.

What you’ll do

• Serve as Editor-in-Chief: Own editorial quality for all external content (clarity, consistency, technical accuracy, and strategic alignment).
• Orchestrate & systematize content strategy: Coordinate internal builders and executives to ensure coverage of key launches and a cohesive POV across channels.
• Own product launch narratives: Create positioning and messaging for new features, model releases/integrations, and product launches.
• Build AI-native content systems: Design and manage AI-assisted content guardrails (e.g., “system prompts”), quality standards, and brand guidelines.
• Enable founder-led marketing: Support executives with messaging strategy and ghostwriting for personal channels (e.g., Twitter/X, LinkedIn).

Requirements

• 5–7 years in product marketing or developer marketing (ideally at a technical/API-first platform or developer tool).
• Strong technical fluency in API products and developer workflows; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Exceptional writing/editing across formats: blog posts, social media, web copy, and positioning documents.
• Systems thinking with strong process design skills (frameworks/templates that others can execute consistently).
• Developer community familiarity: Reddit, Discord, and Twitter/X.
• Cross-stakeholder orchestration without direct management authority.
• Comfort with AI-native workflows: use AI tools/agents for high-velocity content while maintaining editorial judgment.
• Technical accuracy validation: able to review AI-generated content and confirm correctness before engineering review.

Nice to have

• Experience specifically with LLM/model release communications and thought leadership for technical audiences.
