Developer Manager

Role overview

Weiss Ratings is seeking an experienced Developer Manager to lead its software development team and drive innovation across technology solutions. The role combines technical leadership and people management to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a development team of front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineers; foster collaboration and innovation.
• Manage performance and execution through regular performance reviews.
• Plan and prioritize development projects aligned with business goals.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software and collaborate with product managers, QA, and stakeholders to define requirements and scope.
• Provide architectural guidance, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices for coding, security, and performance.
• Recommend and adopt emerging technologies where appropriate.
• Improve development processes by implementing/refining Agile/Scrum, optimizing workflows and CI/CD, and driving automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven experience with modern web technologies: JavaScript, React, Node.js, .NET, Python.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure and DevOps practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in financial services/fintech.
• Knowledge of data analytics, APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards in financial technology.
