Developer Events Specialist

Role Overview

Buildkite is hiring a Developer Events Specialist to plan, coordinate, and execute dev-focused events and community programs. This is a hands-on, logistics-first role where you own the full event lifecycle and the on-the-ground experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end event logistics from venue sourcing and vendor management through day-of execution and post-event wrap-up
• Plan and execute developer events including:
  • user conferences
  • community meetups
  • workshops
  • dinners and roundtables
• Manage operational details: vendors, venues, budgets, timelines, checklists, and repeatable processes
• Build and maintain community presence in dev communities (initial focus on the Bay Area)
• Maintain an events calendar for recurring sponsored and co-marketing programs
• Serve as a point of contact for community partners, co-sponsors, and speakers
• Coordinate on-site logistics that enable content capture and attendee signal collection
• Liaise with GTM and Brand teams to ensure timely, consistent post-event follow-up
• Track and report outcomes (what worked, what didn’t, and what to improve)
• Manage multiple events simultaneously while staying organized
• Funnel attendee and lead information through GTM enrichment; coordinate pre- and post-event momentum with GTM/Sales

Requirements

• 3+ years coordinating or managing events in a SaaS or technical environment
• Strong organizational skills to manage timelines, vendors, and moving parts
• Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and external partners
• Comfortable working autonomously in an async-first environment
• Clear, concise communicator who documents decisions and keeps stakeholders informed

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and software delivery concepts
• Experience running events for developer/engineering audiences
• Existing network in Bay Area developer communities
• Experience with ABM or intent tools
