About the role
Role: Backend Developer
You’ll join 1Password’s Billing and Payments Infrastructure team, responsible for managing and optimizing customer financial transactions.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain production backend systems for billing and payments features.
- Write, test, debug, and deliver code for new and existing product capabilities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to ensure smooth releases.
- Plan work by breaking down tasks, estimating, and helping prioritize major deliverables.
- Build comprehensive tests across the development lifecycle and ensure code behaves as expected.
- Review teammates’ code to maintain high quality and support a feedback-rich engineering culture.
- Create and review documentation to support scalability of code processes.
- Mentor junior/new team members, provide technical guidance, and support pair programming.
- Participate in on-call rotations to resolve billing/payments emergencies and provide uninterrupted support.
What you’re looking for
- 2+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in Golang.
- Strong software development best practices and adherence to coding standards.
- Ability to solve moderately complex problems and propose effective solutions.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical cross-functional partners.
- Interest and capability in testing methodologies and debugging techniques.
Bonus points
- Experience with Kotlin, Swift, Rust, JavaScript, or related languages (or proven ability to learn new languages quickly).
Remote
- Remote opportunity within the US and Canada.
