Designer

Role Overview

H&R Block is expanding its Product Design organization to build next-generation digital experiences in an AI-first future. As a Product Designer, you will shape core product experiences for an early-stage digital product, partnering closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Design Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end user experiences and product workflows, including user journeys
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs to bring concepts to life
• Participate in user research and usability testing; validate designs through feedback and iteration
• Translate customer and business needs into intuitive product experiences
• Use AI tools in both the design and prototyping process
• Contribute to product strategy and experience direction for a new digital product
• Support implementation and delivery by collaborating with engineering teams
• Continuously improve experiences based on user insights and product learnings

Required Qualifications

• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end product design work (flows, interaction design, and visual craft)
• Experience designing/testing prototypes with real users and translating findings into decisions
• Ability to work in iterative development cycles with engineering and product
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting work to stakeholders and leadership
• Comfort with ambiguity and driving toward a validated design direction

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing AI-powered or conversational product experiences
• Experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools
• Background in fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries
• Experience working within an enterprise design system
• Familiarity with moderated and unmoderated research methods
• Experience supporting new product initiatives from concept through launch
