About the role

Role: Design Project Manager (Estonia)

Design Project Manager for complex, mission-critical projects with a primary focus on hyperscale and enterprise data centers.

Engagement / Setup

Independent contractor agreement (long-term, ongoing)
US-based company; collaboration spans multiple projects based on business needs
Work can be remote or hybrid, with office option in Tallinn

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary design teams (Electrical, Mechanical, ICT, Structural, BIM/VDC, Architectural)
Manage the full project lifecycle: proposal development → kickoff → design completion → construction support
Serve as the primary client point of contact and maintain long-term relationships
Own project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation
Monitor financial performance (fee utilization, forecasts, invoicing, change management)
Facilitate project meetings, design reviews, and cross-discipline coordination
Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Ensure deliverables meet QA/QC standards, client requirements, and industry best practices
Support business development (proposals, fee estimates, project planning, client presentations)
Mentor teams and promote collaboration and technical excellence

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related technical field
7–10+ years of project management experience in engineering/architecture/design consulting
Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams for mission-critical / data center projects
Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships
Experience delivering projects through all design phases and into construction support

Nice to have

Strong technical understanding of mission-critical facilities and a record of leading large, fast-paced, multidisciplinary design programs
