About the role

Role Overview

Design Manager (Workplace) — hands-on design leadership for façade projects. This is a predominantly remote role with occasional site and office visits, supporting delivery across multiple projects in London and the South East.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate façade design across multiple concurrent projects
Lead and support a small in-house design team
Prepare, review, and control technical submissions and design documentation
Ensure compliance with UK regulations, with emphasis on fire and safety requirements
Work closely with project managers, consultants, and site teams
Manage design programmes, deadlines, and design changes
Support buildability and provide technical input during pre-construction

Requirements

Strong background in façades design
Proven experience producing technical submissions and managing design documentation
Experience managing/coordinating a design team
Up-to-date knowledge of UK building regulations, particularly fire compliance
Comfortable working to project programmes and deadlines
Detail-focused, reliable, and organised
Strong coordination and communication skills

Nice to Have

Experience mentoring/developing junior designers
Broad knowledge across façade systems and materials

Package / Offer

Salary up to £70,000 + package
