About the role

Role overview

Design Engineer, Presence (Stripe) Design, prototype, and build new experiences for Stripe’s web presence (stripe.com and related sites). You’ll work across evergreen pages and time-based campaigns, using and extending Stripe’s libraries and design systems while keeping strong attention on in-browser performance.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with designers and partners to create and maintain Stripe.com
Partner with other design engineers (including pairing and mentoring) to build a culture of excellence
Prototype and implement web animations and interaction-heavy launch materials
Deliver best-in-class end-user experiences for complex problems
Utilize, maintain, and extend design systems
Integrate the web platform with self-serve authoring and experimentation

Pod focus (where you may work)

Collective pod: leverage design, animation, and interaction to drive awareness, educate prospective users, and share Stripe expertise across public surfaces (e.g., Stripe.com, Link)
Expansion pod: attract new prospects and drive conversion with strong user journeys and interactive, polished tools

Requirements

3+ years of relevant web front-end development or creative technology experience at a product-driven, tech-forward company
Advanced knowledge of modern HTML and CSS
Experience writing clear, elegant code in a team environment

Nice-to-haves (implied)

A strong “web as storytelling” mindset and creative craft
Experience contributing to/using design systems and libraries
