Design Director

Role Overview

Contract Design Director for a digital product design agency client. You will lead the end-to-end design of a next-generation consumer mobile application for an innovative technology brand, shaping product strategy and delivering exceptional UX/UI across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product design strategy and execution for a large-scale consumer mobile application
• Drive experience design across mobile, tablet, and wearable platforms
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, and client stakeholders to align on roadmap, priorities, and product vision
• Lead feature design for key journeys such as onboarding, home, account management, and connected devices
• Establish and evolve a scalable design system to support future product growth
• Balance short-term delivery with a long-term product vision (3–5 years)
• Champion high-quality interaction design, visual design, and product craft
• Present design concepts, facilitate feedback sessions, and incorporate stakeholder input
• Partner with engineering to support implementation and delivery

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading product design for complex consumer-facing digital products
• Strong portfolio covering UX, UI, interaction design, and product thinking
• Mobile application design experience; tablet and wearable experience strongly preferred
• Expertise building and scaling design systems
• Proficiency in Figma and modern product design workflows
• Ability to lead client-facing conversations and influence product strategy
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and stakeholders
• Experience in an agency/consultancy or fast-paced product environment is highly preferred
