Demo Engineer

Role Overview

You’ll be a hands-on Demo Engineer and a “force multiplier” for Zip’s Pre-sales organization. You’ll own how Zip demos are delivered end-to-end—building and maintaining the environments, data, scripts, and certification standards so Solution Engineers can deliver technically credible demos quickly and consistently.

Responsibilities

• Demo environment build & operations:
  • Design, build, and maintain demo environments, datasets, demo pathways, and demo scripts used by Solution Engineers (SEs).
• Self-service demo tooling & templates:
  • Convert demo builds into reusable packages/assets for SEs and Account Executives (AEs).
• Demo narratives & storytelling:
  • Create talk tracks, narrative arcs, and messaging that translate technical features into clear stories.
• Release readiness & alignment:
  • Work with Product and Product Marketing to ensure new agents, integrations, and vertical use cases ship with working demo environments and scripts.
• AI-assisted scripting & asset generation:
  • Use LLMs and AI coding tools to generate and maintain demo scripts, synthetic data, and environment scaffolding to reduce manual build time.
• Automate end-to-end workflows with Playwright:
  • Build and maintain Playwright-based flows to automatically validate/refresh environments and reduce manual QA.
• AI-native tooling (internal prototypes):
  • Prototype and ship internal tooling using tools like Replit and Lovable to move from idea to working builds.
• Agentic loops for environment robustness:
  • Design multi-step agent workflows that prepare, validate, and repair demo environments proactively.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years in technical pre-sales, sales engineering, or demo engineering in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
• Strong hands-on scripting skills (e.g., Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Comfort with REST APIs and webhooks.
• Familiarity with cloud/infrastructure to stand up and operate demo environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience using AI to automate scripting and demo/asset generation.
• Experience automating end-to-end workflows with Playwright (or similar browser automation) for validation/regression/testing.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native development tools like Replit and Lovable.
• Ability to go from blank canvas to working prototype largely via AI-assisted building.
• Experience designing/maintaining agentic loops (multi-step AI agent workflows that execute, evaluate, and repair/validate).
