About the role
Role Overview
Alternative Delivery Manager (Large Diameter Water Conveyance) for complex municipal water infrastructure projects across Texas. You will lead the planning, pursuit, and delivery lifecycle—from early business development through design, contract management, and execution—working with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of alternative and collaborative delivery projects, from business development/pursuits through design and contract management.
- Develop pursuit strategies and support proposal development for major water infrastructure opportunities.
- Collaborate with clients, engineering partners, and internal teams to deliver Design-Build and other alternative delivery projects.
- Provide leadership across the full project lifecycle while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Coordinate with technical, estimating, scheduling, and project controls teams during project development.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; make sound, timely decisions.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities and fostering long-term relationships with municipal clients and industry partners.
- Ensure delivery with a focus on quality, collaboration, and client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of contractor and/or construction management experience.
- Experience with large-diameter water conveyance projects, including municipal water clients, regulations, and stakeholder engagement.
- Background in horizontal and underground construction, including open-cut and trenchless methods (no vertical-only experience).
- Previous experience pursuing/delivering municipal water projects in Texas.
- Strong understanding of the Texas municipal water market, procurement processes, regulations, and upcoming opportunities.
- Established relationships across Texas municipalities, water authorities, utilities, engineering firms, and decision-makers.
- Strong experience with alternative delivery methods: Design-Build, EPC, and preconstruction.
- Proven leadership plus strong technical writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with scheduling, estimating, and project controls software.
Travel / Work Setup
- Hybrid or remote candidates expected to travel about 50%.
- Typically travel twice per month (Monday departure, Thursday return), remote on Fridays, and spend remaining time working from the office.
- Primary project locations mentioned: Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, or San Antonio, TX.
