About the role

Role: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

OptN is seeking a founder-type CEO to scale a venture-scale EdTech business with an established technical platform and traction.

Location & Work Model

Remote (US-based preferred)
Frisco, TX listed as a location

Responsibilities

Own and drive company strategy, fundraising, and vision execution
Lead investor outreach and help close the next financing round (Series A)
Build out go-to-market (sales, marketing, partnerships)
Serve as the public face of the company to institutions, press, and the broader EdTech community
Collaborate closely with the founding technical team and the board

Requirements

Founder/co-founder/GM or growth-stage operator experience in a tech or EdTech startup
Understanding of the higher education buyer journey, especially admissions or enrollment
Experience raising venture capital (and willingness to do it again)
Strong focus on product-market fit, unit economics, and customer adoption/“customer love”
Comfortable with equity-first compensation while building value

Nice to Have

Prior experience in AI-powered student engagement or university recruitment
