About the role

Role Overview

Join Salesforce as a Database Engineer (Government Cloud). You’ll help maintain the reliability and performance of databases and applications, including testing, debugging, root-cause analysis, and database automation.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in database automation and feature enhancements (on-site and in public cloud).
Define, develop, and deploy system monitoring requirements, thresholds, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with other engineering teams to resolve issues and ensure availability and reliability of production databases.
Implement functional and system tests.
Perform debugging and root cause analysis.
Provide technical support to customers and stakeholders.
Actively contribute to database automation and ongoing improvements.

Requirements

2+ years hands-on AWS experience building/operating production-grade infrastructure.
2+ years database engineering experience (relational, NoSQL, or both), with PostgreSQL experience.
2+ years scripting/programming experience in Shell, Python, and/or Golang.
2+ years Linux system engineering experience.
24/7 on-call rotation willingness.
Experience with log management and analytics (e.g., Splunk or ELK: Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
Experience deploying distributed applications using containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, including EKS/GKE).
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
Practical experience using AI tools (AI coding assistants / generative AI) to speed development and automate workflows.
