Data Software Engineer

Role Overview

NinjaOne is hiring a Data Software Engineer to build, maintain, and scale data infrastructure. The role focuses on reliable data pipelines, database performance, automation, monitoring, and analytics enablement for data-driven business decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement scalable pipelines to move/transform large volumes of data from multiple sources into central data warehouses for reporting and advanced analytics.
• Database Management: Optimize relational database performance and ensure availability, reliability, and consistency.
• Automation & Optimization: Automate and improve data workflows to reduce manual work and increase efficiency.
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Protect data integrity and security, monitor pipeline performance, and troubleshoot issues.
• Data Visualization: Create dashboards and reports using Tableau and Databricks.
• Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, analysts, and other teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.

About You (Requirements)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/IT or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of software development with a strong focus on data engineering/data science.
• Experience building data pipelines and managing large-scale data systems using SQL and Python.
• Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with orchestration/workflow tools such as Airflow, Kafka, or dbt.
• Databases: MySQL/PostgreSQL (relational) and MongoDB/Cassandra (NoSQL).
• Data warehousing concepts/tools such as Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.

Nice-to-Haves / Helpful Signals

• Understanding of large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design, and client-server architecture.

Location / Work Model

• Remote (USA-based) allowed from home if you reside in: CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, WA.
• Hybrid options available in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL.
