Data Services Engineer (Strategic Projects)

Role Overview

You’ll join GrowthLoop as a Data Services Engineer (Strategic Projects), supporting a single enterprise client on a data transformation initiative. You’ll collaborate with client stakeholders to understand business needs and the existing data landscape, then design scalable models and improve workflows.

Key Missions

• Design scalable, accessible data models that unlock business value for the client.
• Engineer and optimize ingestion of large volumes of data into cloud data warehouses, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Improve internal workflows and tooling to increase efficiency and repeatability, acting as a thought partner for client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the client to translate business needs into data architecture and modeling.
• Build and maintain reliable data ingestion/warehouse pipelines.
• Enhance tooling and processes to support long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• Passion for clean data architecture and scalable, repeatable processes.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and core data warehousing principles.
• Ownership mindset: self-starter who thrives autonomously.
• 2–5 years experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Proven experience designing/building/maintaining cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Experience with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Nice-to-Haves

• Hands-on experience with GCP, especially BigQuery.
• Experience with workflow orchestration platforms like Airflow.
• Experience with transformation/modeling tools such as dbt or Google Cloud Dataform.
• Exposure to machine learning workflows (development, training, deployment/productionization).
• Experience working with/within large enterprise organizations.
