Role: Data Scientist (USA-Remote)

As a Data Scientist on a newly formed team, you will generate insights from complex, finance-related data to support research and production trading systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems to ensure data correctness and monitor data health in data stores and live feeds
• Identify abnormal production behavior and communicate clearly with relevant stakeholders
• Perform ad-hoc/extemporaneous analyses on research and production trading systems with leadership
• Use financial expertise + statistical analysis to produce actionable insights for production trading and research
• Design and implement analysis pipelines to automate valuable ongoing monitoring

Requirements

• 1+ years of applied end-to-end industry experience (including internships) with complex datasets:
  • curation, querying, aggregation, exploratory data analysis, and visualization
• Proficiency with statistical methods for pattern discovery, root cause analysis, and recommending solutions
• Ability to frame and answer questions mathematically and infer forward-looking directions from retrospective analysis
• Fluency working with tabular data using SQL, Pandas, and R
• Basic software development skills with bash, Linux/Unix, and Git
• Ability to refine ambiguous requests into clear outputs with strong communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (statistics, biostatistics, data science, computer science, or related)

Preferred

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline
• Prior experience or strong interest in finance (e.g., coursework in financial engineering, academic projects, internships)
• Experience in production-facing environments and familiarity with tooling such as CI/CD and Airflow

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $150,000–$190,000 (location-based); bonus/other benefits separate
