Role Overview
Econometric Data Analyst (Stata SE) (Data Scientist) — Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
- Compensation: $20–$100/hour
Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced econometric models in Stata SE, focusing on panel data and causal inference techniques.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize do-files for efficient data management, analysis automation, and reproducible workflows.
- Perform rigorous data cleaning, transformation, and validation for large-scale datasets.
- Produce clear, actionable outputs via well-documented code, technical reports, and presentations for academic and policy stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the customer team to understand objectives, communicate findings, and iterate based on feedback.
- Stay current with best practices in econometric research and Stata SE functionality; share knowledge with peers.
- Ensure outputs meet standards for reproducibility, transparency, and ethical data handling.
Requirements
- Expert proficiency in Stata SE with experience in econometric modeling and automation using do-files.
- Strong knowledge of panel data analysis, causal inference methods, and optimization for large datasets.
- Advanced skills in data cleaning/preparation/validation for complex statistical analysis.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication with attention to clarity and detail.
- Proven ability to document processes and present findings to diverse academic/policy audiences.
- Experience producing reproducible research outputs while maintaining analytic integrity.
- Self-motivated and organized, able to thrive in a fully remote environment.
- Advanced degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
- Prior experience collaborating with academic or policy-focused institutions.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with complementary tools/languages such as R or Python.
