Data Scientist -- Pharma/BioTech Industry

Role Overview

NAVA Software Solutions is hiring a Data Scientist (Pharma/BioTech Industry) for a remote-first team. The position is hands-on and spans the full ML lifecycle—from prototyping to production deployment—with a strong focus on production readiness, APIs, and scalable architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop NLP and generative AI solutions using LLM frameworks and model provider SDKs/APIs (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace).
• Build and fine-tune traditional ML models (classification, regression, clustering) to support data-driven applications.
• Create robust, scalable ML pipelines and expose capabilities via APIs.
• Implement model deployment on AWS using ECS, Lambda, and S3, with attention to CI/CD, observability, and cost.
• Apply strong system design principles to architect scalable, maintainable, and secure ML systems.
• Work with product managers and domain experts to turn ambiguous business problems into well-scoped AI solutions.
• Lead projects independently from concept to deployment and contribute to technical excellence in an innovation-focused team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience in data science / machine learning.
• Strong background in NLP, LLMs, and generative AI (theory and practical tooling).
• Familiarity with modern LLM stacks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI).
• Proficiency with traditional ML methods using scikit-learn and XGBoost.
• Expert Python engineering (clean, maintainable, testable code suitable for production).
• Experience building production-ready model APIs using FastAPI (or similar).
• Strong understanding of AWS, especially ECS, Lambda, and S3.

• MLOps/DevOps best practices such as Docker, Terraform, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
