Data Scientist, North Insights

Role Overview

As a Data Scientist on Cohere’s Analytics and Data Insights team, you will build analytics and experiments that shape product and company strategy. You’ll help enterprise customers understand the real-world business impact of foundational AI.

Responsibilities

• Drive agentic analytics by building tools to bring order and clarity to real-world data.
• Define AI impact measurement: own end-to-end analytics for adoption, growth, and impact used by North leadership to prioritize features by measured value.
• Ship customer-facing analytics that demonstrate value to enterprise customers.
• Build and deploy small language models to categorize, classify, and enrich message data to provide customers visibility into how teams use Cohere’s products.
• Design and run experiments, including A/B tests, causal inference studies, and opportunity sizing tied to product and go-to-market decisions.
• Build predictive models for forecasting, segmentation, propensity scoring, and opportunity sizing across Cohere’s business lines.
• Act like an owner: set analytical priorities, push initiatives from question to production, and own what you build.

Requirements

• Strong command of SQL, Python, and Git.
• Expertise in statistical inference, experimental design, and predictive modeling.
• Ability to convert ambiguous business questions into rigorous analytical problems with clear recommendations.
• Experience building and deploying production models (not only notebook work).
• Ability to take a classifier from prototype to production scale.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as BigQuery, dbt, Looker, or Airflow.
