Role overview
SentiLink is hiring a Data Scientist (New Grad) to build core machine learning products for fraud detection and financial risk. This full-stack data science role is designed for new PhD graduates or early-career researchers who want to apply machine learning to real-world fraud detection in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain fraud detection models across the full ML lifecycle:
- data acquisition decisions
- featurization
- labeling strategy
- model training and experimentation
- productionalization
- monitoring
- Take end-to-end ownership of a domain and ship production code.
- Collaborate across teams to research new fraud types, develop products, and provide analysis supporting sales and marketing.
- Work on high-visibility projects that require domain understanding, critical thinking, and strong technical execution.
Role areas (teams)
- Emerging Products (0-to-1): develop new offerings brought to market
- Application Fraud: detect fraud in consumer financial application workflows
- Identity: resolve identities across conflicting digital/physical sources and generate risk models
Requirements
- Strong interest in applying ML to production fraud detection, not only research.
- Ability to own a technical domain and deliver with high impact in a fast-moving environment.
- Technical capability to build and ship ML systems (including production code).
Preferred / nice-to-haves
- Experience or strong familiarity with the listed stack: Python 3, PostgreSQL, and AWS infrastructure.
- Ability to work in the U.S.; preference for candidates who can regularly work from Austin, San Francisco, or New York offices.
