About the role
Role Overview
As a Data Scientist at New Flyer, you will help deliver business value through data and AI initiatives. The role focuses on designing, building, testing, documenting, and deploying analytics and machine learning solutions integrated with the company’s ERP and related business systems.
What You Will Do
- Build interactive Power BI dashboards for data storytelling and stakeholder decision support using ERP and IoT data sources.
- Design and develop machine learning models and predictive analytics using data from Snowflake.
- Perform data exploration, statistical analysis, and feature engineering to support AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure robust data pipelines.
- Contribute to AI-driven tools and frameworks across the organization.
- Evaluate model performance and retrain models as data evolves.
- Support cross-functional projects involving manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering.
- Update training materials and documentation and deliver user training to operating groups.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Post-secondary education in a Business or STEM field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
- Training/certifications in Data Science, Statistics, and AI.
- 2+ years of experience in data science / AI / advanced analytics.
- Strong proficiency with SQL (preferably Snowflake), Python, and Power BI.
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, and AI workflows.
- Experience building end-to-end models and integrating them into business processes.
- Deep knowledge of data warehousing and cloud data platforms (Snowflake and Fabric preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage range: $80,000–$95,000 CAD (annual).
