Data Scientist | Modeling

Role Overview

Machinify is seeking a Data Scientist (Modeling) to advance machine learning models that identify and prioritize claims for audit. You’ll both build best-in-class models and create technical frameworks and tools that improve modeling scale and business impact.

Responsibilities

• Master Claim Audits: Analyze clinical and coding audits, understand data driving audit decisions, and review prior outcomes.
• Model Advancement:
  • Curate labeled data
  • Hypothesize new features
  • Develop supervised ML models to target claims for audit with higher precision
• Optimize Impact: Rigorously evaluate model performance and translate results into operational insights and recommendations.
• Tame Complexity: Work with large, nuanced, and often unclean/undefined data pipelines derived from business workflows.
• Drive Team Success: Improve data pipelines, modeling infrastructure, and internal tools to increase decision-making efficiency.
• Grow with Healthcare: Build expertise in healthcare data and collaborate with clients/internal experts to ensure insights align with real business needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience applying ML/data-driven optimization to real business problems.
• Ability to measure and optimize direct business impact.
• SQL experience and comfort working with large-scale data.
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Python or R.
• Experience building ML models from scratch for new applications, using modern approaches such as neural networks or tree-ensembles.
• Comfort with key modeling decisions (e.g., supervised labels, optimization metrics, and feature selection).
