Data Scientist

Role Overview

Join Mark43’s Professional Services team as a Data Scientist. You’ll partner directly with public safety agencies to unlock the value of their RMS and CAD data—turning operational data into actionable insights for executive decision-making and operational strategy.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with customer command staff and Mark43 experts to define high-priority analytical questions and appropriate analysis methodologies.
• Build and execute the analysis: develop queries, pull data, and run statistical analysis.
• Design or enhance visualizations/dashboards to make complex operational data intuitive and decision-ready.
• Integrate disparate datasets, address data quality issues, and create repeatable reporting frameworks.
• Choose analytical approaches that fit the customer’s desired goals; implement solutions grounded in sound statistical reasoning.
• Help customers use Mark43 platform analytics more effectively; identify opportunities for feature enhancements and analytical innovation.
• Translate complex results into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring insights are rigorous and operationally aligned.
• Collaborate with Services, Product, and Engineering to turn customer insights into platform improvements.

What You’ll Need

• 2+ years of professional experience working with complex datasets in a production or client-facing environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or R, plus SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
• Experience designing and delivering analyses, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Ability to learn the Mark43 platform’s data model and analytical capabilities; curiosity and proactive support for customers.
