Data Scientist

Role Overview

Gartner’s Services Data Science team is seeking a Data Scientist to work on advanced, business-impacting analytics and Generative AI / LLM-based agents. This role offers the opportunity to contribute in a startup-like environment while leveraging Gartner’s resources and expertise.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement LLM-based agents that synthesize complex information and trigger actions within business workflows
• Use Generative AI techniques to derive actionable insights from unstructured text (e.g., call transcripts, emails)
• Predict client interest based on digital footprint and make recommendations to improve client value delivery
• Develop customer churn prediction models to identify at-risk clients proactively
• Use statistical and machine learning techniques on client retention data
• Build tools to process structured and unstructured data
• Engineer features/signals to train ML models from diverse data sources

What You’ll Need

• BS required / MS preferred in Computer Science or related fields (Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics)
• 4+ years of data science experience applying methods to live initiatives or software development
• Experience working on GenAI projects
• 4+ years of Python coding and statistical analysis
• At least 2 years in one or more of:
  • Prompt Engineering and working with LLMs
  • Machine Learning and statistical techniques
  • Data mining and recommendation systems
  • Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval
  • Working with large volumes of data
  • User behavior modeling
• NLP / Information Retrieval is a plus
