Data Scientist, Finance

Role Overview

As a Data Scientist (Finance) at Whatnot, you’ll partner with business teams to identify opportunities and influence decisions using data analytics methods and tools. You’ll own and improve Finance data domains and build production-quality data products that drive incremental gains in contribution margin.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner across the business to find improvements/opportunities and influence decisions with data-driven analysis.
• Act as the data owner for Finance functions, including:
  • Accounting
  • Tax
  • Strategic finance
  • Profitability
  • Executive office reporting
• Build production-quality data products such as:
  • Dashboards
  • Notebooks
  • Actionable KPIs to deliver financial insights.
• Drive incremental improvements in contribution margin.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Data Analytics/Science.
• Background in finance.
• Expertise in data engineering and analytics engineering.
