Data Scientist (Experimentation)

Role overview

Pinterest is hiring a Data Scientist (Experimentation) to improve the company’s experimentation platform. You will use experimental design and statistical analysis to support and optimize thousands of concurrent experiments.

Key missions

• Improve and iterate on Pinterest’s experimentation platform using advanced methodologies.
• Make the experiment setup, execution, and evaluation process smoother and more repeatable.
• Partner with product data science teams to debug, design, or improve their experiments and experimentation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement methodologies to enhance the experimentation platform.
• Streamline the end-to-end experiment process.
• Consult with product data science teams on experimentation and experimentation processes.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant field (stats, applied math, biostatistics, etc.) or 2+ years as a Data Scientist / Applied Scientist.
• Hands-on experience solving experimentation problems; awareness of state-of-the-art methods.
• Proficiency in software development best practices, including Git, for reproducibility and collaboration.
• Familiarity with workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow to schedule and automate data pipelines.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, scalable code that others can maintain and extend.
