Data Scientist

Role Overview

Data Scientist (Data Analytics Research Scientist) focused on Medicare Advantage (MA) Stars forecasting and healthcare quality analytics. You will build predictive models and evaluate interventions using experimental and causal inference methods, with a strong emphasis on compliant handling of PHI/HIPAA data.

Responsibilities

• Own year-end MA Stars forecasting with measure-level and contract-level predictions.
• Develop advanced statistical and machine learning models for healthcare analytics.
• Lead Test & Learn pilot framework:
  • experiment design
  • patient identification
  • evaluation of outcomes
• Apply causal inference to assess interventions and business results.
• Build scalable analytics solutions using Python and/or R.
• Collaborate with clinical, product, and engineering teams.
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Ensure PHI/HIPAA-compliant handling of healthcare data.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Research Scientist with MA Stars forecasting & modeling expertise.
• Deep background in payer/health plan domains.
• Python and/or R.
• Advanced statistical analysis and machine learning.
• Causal inference and predictive modeling.
• PHI/HIPAA-compliant data practices.
• Knowledge of HL7 ADT message formats.
• Recent experience working with healthcare data.

Nice to Have

• Databricks or AWS experience.
• FHIR interoperability knowledge.
• SQL for healthcare analytics.
• Power BI or Tableau.
