Data Scientist (Full Remote)

Join Bluelabs as a Data Scientist to apply statistics, programming, and domain knowledge to solve complex problems and deliver value to clients. You’ll work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment with strong mentorship and the opportunity to complete projects independently.

Key missions

• Design, implement, and deliver analysis products and services, including:
  • Building predictive models
  • Creating data visualization tools
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, program leads, and external stakeholders to:
  • Resolve problems
  • Proactively develop solutions
• Document processes and promote new approaches to support team excellence.

Requirements

• Proven track record delivering data-driven solutions to improve social outcomes
• Ability to anticipate stakeholder questions while staying objective and handling imperfect data (including knowing when to stop)
• Experience creating analytics outputs within a production-oriented team
• 2+ years in a quantitative production environment, or a postgraduate degree in a quantitative field
• Knowledge of experimental design and causal inference
• Strong communication skills to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences (written and verbal)
• Expertise building predictive models using regression and machine learning techniques
• Ability to manipulate data with SQL
• Strong understanding of statistical foundations (e.g., distributions, parameter estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating and delivering engaging data visualizations with industry-leading tools
• Comfort thinking across multiple perspectives (strategic process building, deep complex analysis, and end-user problem framing)

Technical focus (tools/languages)

• Statistical programming language: R or Python
• Predictive modeling, causal inference, experimental design, and statistics-driven modeling
