About the role
Role Overview
Data Scientist (Strategic Analytics, Value & Economics) supporting healthcare consulting engagements. You’ll be embedded with consultants, economists, and policy experts to design and execute advanced healthcare claims analyses and observational research using Medicare, Medicaid, and PED data.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute modeling for Medicare, Medicaid, commercial claims, EHR, and other healthcare datasets
- Analyze treatment patterns, healthcare costs, utilization, and clinical outcomes to generate real-world evidence (RWE)
- Develop scalable analytics using SAS, SQL, R, and/or Python
- Produce client deliverables: executive presentations, technical reports, dashboards, and analytical summaries
- Translate complex analyses into actionable insights for life sciences clients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on market access, reimbursement, pricing strategy, and healthcare policy
- Maintain analytical quality via program validation, documentation, and QA processes
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Public Health, Health Economics, Computer Science, or a quantitative field
- Hands-on PED data experience (non-negotiable)
- 1+ year professional experience using SAS
- 2+ years healthcare analytics experience in HEOR/RWE/observational research
- Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and healthcare policy
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with CMS CCW, VRDC, or Medicaid T-MSIS data
- Experience supporting market access, payer strategy, pricing & reimbursement, or value evidence initiatives
