About the role
Role: Data Scientist
You’ll help establish Atticus’s central Data Science team and be a founding member, working closely with cross-functional departments to apply data across the platform.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary data thought partner for cross-functional teams tackling a novel, fast-evolving problem space
- Design metrics, build data pipelines, and run experiments
- Launch and maintain models using a broad toolkit across expansive datasets
- Partner with department leads to ensure decision-making and operations are data-informed
- Interpret data and generate insights that inform product roadmap and user experience
- Help teams measure impact, identify target levers, and improve outcomes
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant data science experience in a high-growth startup or scrappy team environment
- Ability to provide full-stack data support across:
- metric & data model design
- exploratory analysis
- testing & experimentation
- predictive modeling
- Strong SQL proficiency
- Substantial professional experience with Python or R
- Experience building key metrics, reporting, and models from scratch
- Experience using A/B testing and/or causal inference to identify effective levers
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience on a two-sided marketplace
- Experience with non-experimental causal inference methods
- Experience shipping and maintaining model code in production
