Data Scientist

Role Overview

McKesson (CoverMyMeds) is seeking a Data Scientist to support forecasting and demand planning initiatives, including volume and contact center forecasting. The role focuses on building and improving statistical and predictive models to enhance forecasting accuracy, workforce planning, and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large, complex datasets to improve forecasting accuracy and operational planning
• Develop, maintain, and enhance statistical and predictive models for volume and contact center forecasting
• Use time series forecasting, predictive modeling, and scenario planning to anticipate demand patterns
• Partner with operations, workforce management, and analytics stakeholders to identify productivity and customer experience improvements
• Create and present clear data visualizations and insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Communicate forecasting results and strategic recommendations internally and externally when needed
• Assist with staffing and workforce planning model optimization (with guidance from senior team members)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• At least 4 years of experience applying advanced analytics to solve business problems
• Proficiency in Python and R
• Advanced SQL skills
• Experience working with large datasets on cloud platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate insights effectively

Preferred / Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with contact center analytics and workforce management
• Experience in healthcare or biopharma environments
• Familiarity with machine learning, NLP, or decision trees
• Knowledge of Azure, automation workflows, and model deployment processes
