Data Scientist

Role Overview

Data Scientist for a travel/transportation client. Join a small team and work end-to-end to support internal initiatives in a growing, enterprise environment. The role is remote, with occasional travel to St. Louis, MO (1–2 times/year) for department meetings.

Responsibilities

• Build solutions end-to-end with a small team to support internal initiatives
• Develop predictive models and apply statistical inference
• Use deep learning techniques to solve data science problems
• Present technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Incorporate security considerations into day-to-day work
• (Preferred) Design/analyze experiments, explore and visualize data, and integrate data from multiple sources
• (Preferred) Apply causal inference methods and work toward deploying/operationalizing ML models

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship (US Citizen or Green Card holder)
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field (statistical, mathematical, engineering, social science, or related)
• 2+ years of experience with:
  • predictive modeling
  • statistical inference
  • deep learning techniques
• Experience with deep learning frameworks: TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Proficiency with Python or R
• Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to mixed audiences
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have

• PhD in a related quantitative field
• Experience designing and analyzing experiments
• Data exploration and visualization
• Linux/Unix experience
• Writing and optimizing SQL queries
• Integrating/managing data across multiple sources and formats
• Causal inference (e.g., matching/weighting)
• Deploying and operationalizing machine learning models
