About the role

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer at EY Malta, you will design, build, and optimize robust, scalable data pipelines and modern cloud-based data platforms. These platforms support trusted, high-quality data for reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines
Ensure data quality, governance, and auditability
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions
Optimize data flows and ETL processes
Support development of cloud-based data platforms
Work with teams across data engineering, architecture, data governance, and business domains

Requirements

Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
3+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or ETL development
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases
Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline development
Experience with Python (or another scripting language)
Knowledge of data modelling and data warehousing concepts
Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks
Understanding of data governance, data quality, and lineage concepts
Ability to work with structured and unstructured data across modern and legacy platforms
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Databricks certification
Snowflake certification
