Data Engineering Team Leader

Role Overview

Join AllCloud as a Data Engineering Team Leader to lead a small data engineering team while staying hands-on. You will design, build, and scale cloud-native data platforms and AI/GenAI systems on AWS, and drive modern ETL/ELT pipelines and lakehouse architecture.

Key Missions

• Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers; act as a hands-on technical leader across Data & AI initiatives.
• Design, build, and scale cloud-native data platforms and AI systems on AWS.
• Develop and maintain large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, and code reviews.

Requirements

• 7+ years hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or Cloud Architecture.
• Strong hands-on development with Python and SQL.
• Strong AWS data platform experience and lakehouse architecture.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and orchestration/distributed processing.
• Experience building APIs and scalable backend services.
• 4+ years experience leading engineering/data engineering teams.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to balance execution, team leadership, and stakeholder collaboration.
• CI/CD, Git workflows, monitoring, and DevOps practices.
• Professional German + English fluency (DACH region).

Nice-to-Haves / Preferred

• Experience with modern data and AI tooling such as: AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, Kafka/streaming, Spark.
• Experience with AI/ML or GenAI in production.
• Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, serverless architectures.
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, vector databases, or RAG.
• Experience delivering in startups/enterprise/large-scale production environments.
• Industry experience in fintech, banking, gaming, retail, telecom, or other high-scale sectors.
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms.
