Data Engineer

Role overview

Join Verisian’s engineering team as a Data Engineer to help build the Verisian Platform for clinical trials—from planning and exploration to validation, submission, and review of trial results. You’ll build data pipelines, define data validation rules, and develop the data analysis engine that detects inconsistencies.

Key missions

• Contribute to building the Verisian platform by developing applications that expose information about clinical trials.
• Develop data validation rules and improve the data analysis engine to automatically detect inconsistencies.
• Participate in the design, prioritization, development, and testing of new features, resolving customer issues.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data analysis pipelines.
• Create and maintain data validation logic.
• Improve analysis and performance/scalability through troubleshooting and iterative development.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Python (and ideally at least one other programming language).
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical problems and solutions, foresee risks, and collaborate across teams.
• Experience identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues.
• Extensive SQL experience and solid data engineering principles.
• Documentation-focused mindset ("If it’s not code and documented, it doesn’t exist").
• Strong interest in data and ability to perform complex root cause analysis to fix bugs.
• Iteration mindset and team-oriented, mission-driven approach.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with clinical data standards, specifically CDISC SDTM/ADaM.
